At AusGarage Pty Ltd (“AusGarage”), we respect the trust our clients place in us when granting access to their customer data. This Client Data Usage Policy outlines how we handle, process, and protect that data in the course of providing our services.
1. Purpose of Data Access
AusGarage may access and use client customer data for the following purposes:
• Campaign Optimization: Using customer data to improve targeting and performance of marketing campaigns on platforms such as Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, etc.
• Database Health Checks: Conducting detailed analysis of customer databases to provide insights and recommendations for better customer segmentation, engagement, and retention.
• Segmentation & Retargeting: Creating targeted audience segments for remarketing campaigns, email marketing, and other personalized outreach strategies.
2. Data Handling and Processing
• Secure Data Management: Customer data is processed in a secure environment, and access is strictly limited to team members working on the specific client project.
• Third-party Platforms: We may use third-party platforms like Google Ads, Meta, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Active Campaign, and others to manage and analyze client data as part of campaign management and email marketing services.
• Data Minimization: We only access and store the minimum amount of client customer data necessary to achieve the project goals.
3. Data Collection and Modification
• AusGarage does not collect customer data directly unless required by the service (e.g., for segmentation purposes in an email marketing campaign).
• We do not modify client customer data unless instructed to do so by the client as part of the service.
• All customer data remains the property of the client.
4. Client Consent
By engaging AusGarage’s services, clients consent to us accessing and processing their customer data as needed to fulfill the services. Clients are responsible for ensuring that they have obtained the necessary consent from their customers for any data that is shared with AusGarage. This includes, but is not limited to:
• Compliance with applicable data protection laws (e.g., Australian Privacy Principles, GDPR).
• Obtaining explicit consent from customers for their data to be used in marketing campaigns, email lists, or customer analysis.
5. Data Security
We take all reasonable steps to ensure that client customer data is protected from unauthorized access, misuse, or loss. This includes:
• Encryption and Secure Storage: Where applicable, data is encrypted both at rest and in transit.
• Password Management: We use LastPass for secure password storage and management, ensuring only authorized personnel can access sensitive platforms.
• Access Controls: Only team members who are directly involved in the project are granted access to customer data.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
AusGarage retains client customer data only for the duration of the project or as long as necessary to fulfill the agreed services. Once the project is complete or upon the client’s request, we will:
• Delete the data: If instructed, we will securely delete any customer data from our systems.
• Return the data: If required, we will return all relevant data to the client before deletion.
7. Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that impacts client customer data, we will notify the client within 24 hours of becoming aware of the breach, following the steps outlined in our Data Security Policy.
8. Client Responsibility
Clients are responsible for:
• Ensuring data compliance: The client must ensure that all customer data provided to AusGarage has been collected lawfully and with appropriate consent.
• Maintaining access to their platforms: Clients must provide accurate and up-to-date access credentials for any platforms where customer data is being used or processed.
• Tracking third-party data policies: Clients should stay informed about the data handling policies of any third-party platforms being used in their campaigns.
